Hey MHBS Gang:   While we await the release of a couple previous volumes, let us press ahead with our next release, MHBS #9!  I've set a modest goal of getting these out to you by New Years (which is a mere 6 weeks away, if anyone is counting . . .)  That means I'll need all your track submissions in 4 weeks, or by Dec.17th.   Should be plenty of time, especially considering the topic: "WEATHER REPORT"   -no, not the '70's fusion band, but songs referencing all things meteorological; from your common weather elements (rain, snow, hail, etc.) to dramatic features (hurricane, tornado) to the more obscure (bow echo, ball lightning) to name a few.  The theme can be in the title, the lyrics, the band name, the recording label, or "in the mix" (the sound of a clap of thunder in the song would qualify it, for instance).   CURATORS LICENSE (extended):  Fair warning, I intend to take "curators license" and include a track that is totally off topic.  As an added incentive to get your track submissions in early, I am offering this one time deal:  Everyone who gets their track submitted (on-topic with liner notes included) by Dec. 7th (which, in addition to being Pearl Harbor day, is also a full 10 days ahead of the deadline) - will qualify to submit an additional track that is totally off topic. So - here's your chance to really show off your thematic creativity (as if having the opportunity to theme a CD compilation once already wasn't enough!!)   You can send me your submissions as an email attachment (any audio format will do).  Please include your liner notes in the email or as an attachment.  Or I have a web location where you can upload your submissions.  Its at: http://stevewoehrle.com/mhbs/9/ That works better than an attachment for larger files ( I tend to like to use uncompressed, i.e. wav or aiff)   LIST UPDATE:  Suzie & John, will you please make sure this gets to any of the newbies I may not have on my group list.  Also, I once again moved, and have a new mailing address: Steve Woehrle 716 Beall Avenue Rockville, MD  20850   I know, that's twice since we started this thing.  Don't ask . . .  :-)   It may make sense to update the master mailing list, and re-distribute to the group, at some point. . . .   That's it everyone.   Its an easy topic, so you should be able to get started right away.  If you have any questions, please email them to me at: justgetyourstupidsongin@rightaway.com Um, I mean sworl@yahoo.com   thanks. --Steve MHBS #9 “Weather Report” Initial email, 11/18/06
